Art and Nature -- Arte Povera & もの派

Arte Povera

-- late 1960's - 1970's
-- origin -- Italy
-- Traces of NATURE
-- Use of simple objects
-- The body and behaviour are arts
-- Notion of Space and Language
-- Ground Zero

'The 'povera' element related less to materials than to the form and transforming force of their handling and, most of all, to freeing consciousness from conventions of language and representation. [...] So 'impoverishment' emerged as a sparing use of the necessary in which the work acquired its poetics and redefined subjectivity (based on direct experience of the world). ' -- MARTIN HOLMAN

Questions :

- In the 1960's post-war era, what if Pop Art had not become popular in the US? Would art movements of being 'poetic' bring bigger impact to people?

- Can a piece of work that appears very colourful bring out a sense of poetic as another with plain colours do?
